Trees Forever is pleased to feature Mark Rouw presenting on Iowa's Largest and Tallest Trees. Mark is known as the Big Tree expert in Iowa. He has walked many a forest, woodlot, and old farm grove in pursuit of the largest and tallest trees in Iowa. Join Matthew 25 as part of their seven-part series where they talk about different ways to lead a more sustainable life, from sustainable shopping, saving on energy bills, to gardening tips. *Weather permitting* Join the Green Iowa AmeriCorps members serving at Trees Forever as we clean-up our local waterways! Trash bags and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Dress for the weather. Registration is not required, but is recommended so we can account for how many people will be in attendance. Register here
Wednesday April 21, 9:00 a.m. - noon - Volunteer at Prairiewoods Spirituality Center in Hiawatha
Join volunteers at Prairiewoods for a fun- filled morning of woodland and prairie restoration at Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center! Every week they meet at this time to get things done with the help of volunteers but this week is going to be very special! You will be learning about, planting, nourishing and caring for their new young Oak Saplings.

Celebrate your Earth Week with us by supporting local tree plantings and learning more about the benefits of trees. Thursday April 22, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Give a Hoot About Owls, Toddville
*Pre-registration required* Give a hoot about owls and their woodland habitat! Unravel their mysterious lives when you join Trees Forever and Linn County Conservation Naturalist, Chuck Ungs at Wickiup Hill Learning Center to discover why trees play an important role in owl habitat, and then learn how to call an owl. View wings, talons, owl pellets and more. A portion of the program will start in the classroom, and then we will head out on the trail to try and call in some owls. Dress for the weather. April 22 through April 24 - “Where’s Woody?” Scavenger Hunt – Cedar Rapids, NewBo and Czech Village (during business hours)
Explore the downtown Cedar Rapids area, support local businesses and have fun! Trees Forever is hosting a ‘scavenger hunt’ with local businesses from Thursday, April 22 through Saturday April 24. Visit participating businesses and see if you can spot Woody, our Trees Forever mascot! Once you find him in each location, take a selfie with him and post it on Instagram or Facebook using #WheresWoody and tag us @trees_forever. Those who find all of the Woody’s will be entered into a raffle, where we will choose five lucky winners to get a free tree and some Trees Forever swag! More info here
