Growing Community Forests

Helping Create Community Vitality

The trees around your house and in your neighborhood and community are all part of your community forest, sometimes called an urban forest. It is made up of the trees that shelter and provide for you where you live, work and play. It also includes many other plants that, together, form the natural areas in your yard, in a park, at the entrance to your town, or along your streets and roadways.
The Community Forest is your habitat.  It is one you share with other people, as well as with birds, other animals, and thousands of species that all contribute to what makes your place on this planet special. It is also the place where you raise your kids and play with your grandchildren, so making it as healthy and nurturing as possible is essential.
Trees Forever is here to help you grow and care for your community forest by providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance to community volunteers and leaders who are interested in planting and caring for trees and natural areas.
We can also assist with project funding to qualified communities. These grant programs can help communities plant more trees, and provide for additional technical assistance from a Trees Forever staff member.
